Brand
Geerpres
Galvanised mop buckets and the down-press wringer, from a Michigan maker since 1935.
About Geerpres
Geerpres began in 1935, during the Great Depression. Its founder, Elmer Bard, wanted a better way to wring water out of a mop and developed the down-press wringer. The company works from its own 85,000 sq ft facility in Muskegon, Michigan, and makes metal, plastic and microfibre cleaning tools.
Excell's Geerpres range is the classic pairing: a galvanised steel round bucket on castors with a down-press wringer (the red set). The bucket and the wringer are also sold on their own.
Worth knowing
Galvanised after forming
Each bucket is hot-dip zinc galvanised after it is formed, and the bail ears are welded below the rim, clear of the wringer.
One-stroke wringer
Water is pressed straight down into the bucket in a single stroke. Geerpres rates it up to three times as efficient as other designs.
Metal gears
A solid steel gear shaft, double-staggered metal gears and zinc-plated, welded and riveted construction.
Gallon marks
Each reinforcing rib around the bucket marks one US gallon.
