About Rheninghaus
Rheninghaus began making slicers in Turin in 1950. It moved on from flywheel slicers to anodised-aluminium machines and sold them abroad. Essedue bought the company in 2016, and the two brands now trade together as Italian Slicers. Rheninghaus slicers are made at its factory in San Mauro Torinese, near Turin.
Excell's range runs from 220 mm Xpress and Stellina slicers for cafés and sandwich bars, through the 250 and 280 mm Argenta, to the 300 mm Start family: manual, Deluxe, automatic and cheese versions, plus a blade for frozen meat. The Prima, Mondial and Beta have a clear slice exit, and the Beta is a vertical slicer for butcheries.
Worth knowing
Made in Italy
Rheninghaus began in Turin in 1950, and its slicers are built at San Mauro Torinese and sold as 100% Made in Italy.
Clear slice exit
On the Mondial, Beta and Prima the space behind the blade is open, so slices fall clear. Mondial and Beta date from the 1970s.
Sharpener on board
Start slicers have a tempered chrome-steel blade and a built-in sharpener that comes off for cleaning.
Certified
Italian Slicers lists its slicers as certified CE, ETL/NSF 8, Nemko and Inmetro, and MOCA for food contact.
